Committee Meeting This Week

Adults from Troop 177 should plan on attending the virtual committee meeting Monday July 11th at 7:30 p.m. This is our last committee meeting before summer camp, and we just want to check in to be sure there aren’t any last minute issues that need to be addressed.

Troop Meeting This Week

Anyone going to summer camp should plan to attend the troop meeting this Tuesday, July 12th at 7:30 p.m. This will be our last opportunity for youth to finalize plans for camp. Look over schedules and make any changes before we leave on Saturday. Also, for Scouts and adults going for the first time, we will be answering any last minute questions about gear, packing, and general camp procedures.

Please also remember to check the Troop77/177 shared Summer Camp information page at: https://sites.google.com/troop77bsa.com/scout-parent/campingoutings/Summer-Camp for updated information on Covid screening procedures before camp.

Summer Camp Check-in

This Saturday is a mandatory for all scouts and adults attending summer camp. Bring medications, get your final schedule and t-shirt, drop off cookies, etc. (3:30 – 5:30 p.m.) Note this is a drop in event that should only take 15-20 minutes.

Summer Camp Departure

Sunday, July 17 — Summer Camp!

The troop will assemble on Sunday, July 17 at 8:00 a.m., with an estimated departure at 9:00 a.m. We will meet at Oak Grove Elementary (the school, not the church). Be sure to wear Class A uniforms as we do for all Scout-related travel. Neckerchiefs should be left at home.

All attending Scouts have been accounted for in regards to transportation in vehicles of attending adult leaders. Parents will not need to drive their Scouts to and from camp. Scouts will be assigned vehicles and details will be provided prior to departure from the Oak Grove Elementary parking lot no later than 9:00 a.m on Sunday morning.

Scouts will depart from camp no later than 9:00 a.m on Saturday, July 23. The drive is 3 to 3.5 hours and may change based on traffic. ETA is around 1-1:30 p.m. and Scouts will then need to stay an additional 30-60 min in order to assist with unloading equipment. Please stay tuned to the Remind app for details on arrival times.

Those doing High Adventure should pack gear in vehicles so that upon arrival at Camp Daniel Boone they can separate gear.
