No Meetings This Week

With most of the troop out of school as of last week, we are shifting into summer mode. We will be taking the week off from meetings and activities and will begin our summer activity schedule next Wednesday, June 1st.

Mr. Taylor will be available at the Oak Grove UMC from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. for Scoutmaster Conferences and to sign off any rank or Merit Badge requirements that you have completed.

Summer Activities

The Patrol Leaders Council has finalized the activities for our summer schedule. This includes:

  • Fishing
  • Roller Skating
  • Arabia Mountain Day Hike
  • Geocaching
  • TreeTop Quest
  • Kayaking MB @ Lake Allatoona (Sat. Aug 6)

We are still finalizing details. Look for more information on times and locations in the upcoming weeks. Parents if you are interested in leading one of these activities, please talk to Mr. Taylor.

Cub Scout Day Camp

Hightower Trail Cub Scout Day Camp will be held from June 6-10 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily at Chamblee First United Methodist Church. Camp leadership needs a lot of scout volunteers to serve as den chiefs, program staff, on the shooting ranges, and in many other roles. They also need help with setup on June 4, and breakdown after camp closes on Friday June 10th. You can volunteer ½ a day, a full day, 2 or 3 days, or the entire week and all hours served are scoutmaster approved for service. For more information, see Mr. Taylor.
