Meeting this Week

For this week’s meeting, we will be focusing on navigation including map and compass skills, orienteering, and GPS navigation.

Sewing Committee

The Sewing Committee will be at this week’s meeting, starting at 7:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to update your rank/position patches, and get merit badges sewn on your sash. Bring your shirts and badges, inside a ziplock bag labeled with your name and troop number. Don’t forget to pick up your shirt at the end of the meeting.

Woodlands Garden Service Opportunity

Woodlands Garden is excited to host a first annual Scout Volunteer Project on Saturday, March 23 with three different time slots to get involved between 9am-2:30pm. All ages are welcome. Scouts can signup individually or we can sign up as a troop.

Summer Camp Planning

Registration for Summer Camp is just around the corner. If you are planning to join the Troop at Woodruff Summer Camp please use the 2024 WSC Merit Badge Schedule to plan your choices and schedule with friends so you can pick classes you want to do together. Everything is more fun with a friend! We will try to allow some more time on 3/19 for this but if you won’t be at that meeting, you need to communicate and make your decisions outside of Tuesday meetings.

Flint River Paddling in April

Registration for the troop’s Flint River Paddling trip April 12-14 will open soon.

Oak Grove Scouting Gear Swap

Oak Grove Scouting is excited to announce a new, virtual gear swap group through Facebook. Members of the Oak Grove UMC Scouting community can request access to the group via Facebook or by scanning the QR code below with your smartphone. Whether you are trying to find some new-to-you gear, or you are looking to free up a little extra space in the closet, this page is for you!

The Gear Swap page is a space for our community to virtually participate in buying, selling, trading or searching for scout gear. We ask that listings posted to the Gear Swap page be only gear, items and clothing relevant to scouting. Any spam or self-promotion will be removed. As always, please be kind to others in our community through any interactions on this page.

We need a 2nd BSA-registered adult to help us administrate this site! Please reach out to Paul Mooring to fill this role.
