Memorial Day Week — No Meeting this Week

On Memorial Day, Scouts should take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom.

With school out and many of our Scouts on vacation this week, we will not have a meeting this week. As we move into our summer schedule we will be having meetings. Stay tuned for details on summertime meetings and events.

Volunteer for Cub Day Camp, June 5-9

Hightower Trail Cub Scout Day Camp is June 5-9 from 8:30 am-4pm at Chamblee UMC. The camp relies completely on volunteers to run everything! Adults fill key program roles, but BSA youth volunteers form the backbone of the week. Please consider volunteering! You can help ½ a day, a full day, a few days, or the entire week. Not only is is this a lot of fun, but it’s a great way to earn service hours for rank advancement.

To sign up, visit https://www.atlantabsa.org/ht-daycamp.

Summer Camp

All Scouts will need to have an updated BSA Medform Part C which requires a physical in order to attend summer camp. If your Scout has not had a physical since last year’s summer camp, please make plans ASAP to get this done. Many urgent care clinics as well as CVS or Wallgreens Clinics will provide these. You can find the current med form at: https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_ABC.pdf

Visit the Troop 77/177 Summer Camp webpage for key dates and news regarding camp. Several important updates were added on 05/16. If you haven’t checked in recently, please do so.

Also, check out the Troop 177 Summer Camp Gear Guide for tips on gearing up for Summer Camp.
