Meeting this Week
At our last meeting before summer, we are going to be watching the Lorax for Citizenship in the Community merit badge. Scouts do not have to wear Class A and are welcome to wear pajamas or Class B. Any scout who can bring snacks, please do!

Summer Camp Planning
If you are planning to join the Troop at Woodruff Summer Camp June 16-22, 2024, you can still register until the end of May, but you may not get your first choice of Merit Badges or other summer camp programs.

Overnight at the Georgia Aquarium
Save the date. Troop 177 will be doing an overnight visit to the Georgia Aquarium the evening of Saturday July 20, 2024. More details and sign ups will be availalbe soon.
Merit Badge Opportunities
Atlanta Area Council offers several Merit Badge earning opportunities throughout the year.
- Registration opens this week for AAC’s Next Shooting Sports Day on August 17, 2024. These events are only for Scouts who have already started one of the shooting merit badges, but still need help meeting the targeting requirements.
For more information visit: https://www.atlantabsa.org/shootingdays - Registration for the ever-popular Aquatics Merit Badge Days in Allatoona will open on a rolling basis. Scouts can choose from seven water-related merit badges, including Swimming and Lifesaving. Classes can fill up quickly.

Chattahoochee Nature Center
The Chattahoochee Nature Center has updated its offerings for 2024. CNC will host the Canoeing Merit Badge on August 11 and Environmental Science on August 25. Each class costs $45.

Dunwoody Nature Center
Dunwoody Nature Center has updated its classes through the summer. Dunwoody will offer Sustainability on June 29, Environmental Science on July 20, Reptiles and Amphibians August 24, Insect Study September 24, and Forestry October 19.

Georgia Tech University STEM Academy
Georgia Tech will be hosting its annual STEM Academy camp from June 2 – June 7. Scouts will have the opportunity to complete requirements toward a number of STEM-related merit badges.
