Troop Meeting

Hello Scouts!

I hope everyone that went on the rafting trip had a wonderful time.

This Tuesday, we will be working on advancement for all scouts below First Class. The scouts who get the most requirements signed off will be getting prizes!

Any scouts above First Class will be assisting with advancement or working with me to finish up the Reading Merit Badge, which we’ve started in the past. Please review the requirements beforehand.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Yours in Scouting,

Violet T.

Committee Meeting

We will have a Zoom committee meeting Monday August 14 at 7:30 p.m. We have much to discuss including changes to the troop calendar, fundraising, and much more. All parents are encouraged to attend. Zoom invite will be sent out this afternoon for those that need it.

Court of Honor

Our first Court of Honor of the new program year will be on August 29th. This is always are biggest Court of Honor as we will have a lot to recognize Scouts for from summer camp and all of the summer advancement opportunities. If you are close to finishing a rank or merit badge and would like to be recognized, please let Violet or Mr. Taylor know, so we can get that done before the Court of Honor.

Hightower Trail Merit Badge Day

Hello Scouts!

In October, Hightower Trail will be offering a merit badge day and yours truly is in charge of making that happen.

Btw, for anyone who does not know yet, I am the new Hightower Trail District Program Director.

My ask from you scouts is I want to know merit badges that you would like to see offered. Many merit badge days offer ones that are not of much interest and/or merit badges that have been offered so many times at events and you just wish they were different.

I created a sign-up genius (there is probably a better way) to save time and energy. Please add your name to merit badge slots. Each merit badge has 20 slots, if any fill up no need to try and add your name. I will do my best to get that merit badge offered.

Here is the link,

Parents feel free to sign up if you feel strongly about some merit badges being offered, Also, if you are a merit badge counselor and would like to help please let me know. I will be reaching separately to counselors at a later date.

I believe the date will be 10/21/2023

Thank you all

Brian McCoy

Sea Base 2024

Initial Planning Meeting for Sea Base High Adventure Trip in 2024

Are you interested in attending a High Adventure trip to Sea Base  in 2024?  If so, then please plan on attending our initial planning meeting on Sunday, August 20th at 4:00 PM in Scout Hall, especially if you are an Adult Leader/Parent interested in talking an active role in the trip planning and attending Sea Base.

In keeping with our overall High Adventure plan, Scouts participating in this Sea Base trip will need to be 14 or have completed the 8th Grade by summer 2024, as we plan to do this through Venturing Crew 77.

However, if you will be 13 and completed the 7th Grade by next summer and are interested in a Sea Base trip, then please go ahead and attend this initial planning meeting on 8/20. Depending on interest and numbers, we may try to send a 13 year old only group in addition to the 14+ year old group(s) we plan to send through Venturing Crew 77.

Thanks. Clinton Cole
