Meeting this Week
Congratulations to Jamie T. who was elected as Senior Patrol Leader last week. We will swear her in as the new SPL this week. We will also spend part of the meeting mapping out our activities for the summer, as well as camping trips for next year. After that we will do some First Aid competitions.
Court of Honor
Next Tuesday May 7th, we will have our final Court of Honor of the year. If you are close to earning rank or a merit badge, please get that completed ASAP so you can be recognized.
Sewing Available This Tuesday!
The Sewing Committee will be at Tuesday’s meeting. If you have something to be sewn on, put your short/sash in a ziplock bag LABELED ON THE OUTSIDE WITH YOUR NAME. Then remember to pick up your items at the end of the meeting. IMPORTANT: every Scout on Tuesday should be in uniform! If you drop your Class A off for sewing, you must wear a Class B troop shirt.
May Outing
We are planning a day hike at Stone Mountain Park on May 19th at 9:00 a.m. We will hike to the top of the mountain and practice some trail cooking.
Swim Tests
The Troop annual swim testing date is set for Sunday May 19th from 3-5pm at Dynamo Swim Club (3119 Shallowford Rd, Atlanta, GA 30341).
Swim tests are only good for a year and must be renewed. Every scout or adult planning on attending summer camp, Philmont, any fall Troop water activities or campouts, or Northern Tier, or planning to do any Aquatics Merit Badge must pass the BSA swim test.
Summer Camp Planning
If you are planning to join the Troop at Woodruff Summer Camp June 16-22, 2024, you can still register until the end of May, but you may not get your first choice of Merit Badges or other summer camp programs.

Oak Grove Scouting Gear Swap
Oak Grove Scouting is excited to announce a new, virtual gear swap group through Facebook. Members of the Oak Grove UMC Scouting community can request access to the group via Facebook or by scanning the QR code below with your smartphone. Whether you are trying to find some new-to-you gear, or you are looking to free up a little extra space in the closet, this page is for you!
The Gear Swap page is a space for our community to virtually participate in buying, selling, trading or searching for scout gear. We ask that listings posted to the Gear Swap page be only gear, items and clothing relevant to scouting. Any spam or self-promotion will be removed. As always, please be kind to others in our community through any interactions on this page.
We need a 2nd BSA-registered adult to help us administrate this site! Please reach out to Paul Mooring to fill this role.
